How are these battles simulated?

Each battle pits as many Pokémon on each side, drawn at random from the larger one. All are level 50, with their real stats, their types and moves they learn by levelling up. They rush at the nearest enemy they can hit and strike with the damage formula of the games: type bonuses, critical hits and a share of luck included.
